Just because I suck.... I want to say, I'm a Buddhist and while there hasn't been anything to compare to the crusades or the inquisition ( & & & ) "Buddhists" have done many terrible things in the name of Buddhism, but for power and via terrible violence, the suppression of the Jonangpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism, for eg. Anywhere power coalesces, so does the human potential for evil, no matter what name it goes by : )I concede your point. I don’t really know enough about buddhism to really have made that point. I’ll do more research next time :)
However, religion in general seems to result in more violence and hatred than anything else ever created by man.
People suck.

i am so overwhelmed with installation art ideas involving this that my head hurts a little bitkcjo:
Aerogel, also know as frozen smoke, is the world’s lowest density solid, clocking in at 96% air. If you hold a small piece in your hand, it’s practically impossible to either see or feel, but if you poke it, it’s like styrofoam. It supports up to 4,000 times its own weight and can withstand a direct blast from two pounds of dynamite. It’s also the best insulator in existence.

This shit is about the coolest thing ever.
It’s such a great insulator that a thin layer of it will protect anything from the heat of a bunsen burner.
Even though it’s incredibly light and has an extremely low density, its lattice-like molecular structure makes it able to hold objects much greater in mass.
What if you got loads of it, and made a bed, you could pretend you were a pegasus
Possibly one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.

I am against religion because it is bullshit
I’m against religion because it has proven itself to be the most devastatingly violent weapon in history. (particularly christianity, no budhist has ever thought to himself “hey, you know what would be a good idea? A crusade. Lets kill everybody in yet another violent, mysogenistic power play”) Turns out some Buddhists do batshit crazy things too. Oy, religion)
